- 10:15, Soumah. Red and white wines from a cool-climate estate, about 45 minutes.
- 11:30, St Huberts cellar door. Four wines, or beer, cider or a paid spirit tasting, about an hour.
- 12:30, lunch at Hubert Estate. Order and pay for your own meal at Quarters, about 75 minutes.
- 2:00, Yarra Valley Chocolaterie. A guided tasting of ten chocolates, about 45 minutes.
- 2:45, Balgownie Estate. The last wine tasting of the day, about 45 minutes.
- 3:30, back to the city. You reach the CBD between 4:55 and 5:20, near 30 Flinders Street.

You want lunch paid before you go: the wine tour with a two-course lunch and a gin option is for adults and puts the meal in the fare. Where the bus leaves: the Ian Potter Centre, Flinders Street
You meet at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, on Flinders Street, directly opposite 154 Flinders Street. Be there at 8:35. The bus leaves at 9:00, sometimes earlier if everyone is aboard, and it regularly leaves without people who left too little time to get into the CBD. Trams in the CBD are free.
If you do miss it, you are welcome to make your own way to the first winery and join the group there. The day ends at 30 Flinders Street. There is no hotel pickup. Every Melbourne meeting point is on the Yarra Valley map.
Know before you go
- Be on Flinders Street by 8:35. The bus leaves at 9:00 and cannot wait for anyone. Map apps can send you round to Russell Street, but the stop is on Flinders Street.
- Pay for your own lunch. Lunch is at Quarters at Hubert Estate, where weekend bills carry a surcharge. Food you bring cannot be eaten on the estate's grounds.
- Want Chandon instead? Ask first. Ask the operator what time to book your table, and tell them the day before. You will miss the St Huberts tasting.
- Leave the luggage at your hotel. Luggage, large bags, strollers, mobility scooters and non-folding wheelchairs are not allowed on board.
- Children must be 7 or older. Only adults 18 and over may drink in Victoria, and staff check ID for anyone who looks under 25.
- Bring a card for the extras. A gin or whisky tasting at St Huberts costs a small fee, and gelato at the Chocolaterie is yours to buy.
