Yarra Valley Wine Tour Prices and What They Include
A Yarra Valley wine tour costs from $70 to $493 per person, and the fare buys very different days. Here is what each price includes, when lunch is in it, what you pay on the day, and how to compare two fares honestly.
How much does a Yarra Valley wine tour cost?
The shared tours cost $70 to $138 per person. The half days sit at $90 and $95. The full days with lunch in the fare cost $126 to $134.
Two days sit above that band. The guided bike tour costs $253, and the private brunch day costs $493 per person. Every fare shown is per person, in US dollars, and moves with the date you choose.
Is there a Yarra Valley ticket?
No. The valley is a wine region with no gate, so there are no Yarra Valley ticket prices to add on top. You pay at each cellar door for a tasting, or a tour fare covers the tastings it lists.
Some places charge entry and some do not. The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie is free to enter. Healesville Sanctuary charges A$58 for adults in 2026.
What do the cheapest fares include?
The food, wine and chocolate tour is the lowest fare at $70. It includes tastings at three wineries, a guided chocolate tasting, fruit at a strawberry farm, transport and a host-driver. Lunch is not included, and it needs four travellers to run.
The wine, chocolate and gin tour costs $84. It visits three wineries with guided tastings at two, includes up to 12 chocolates and fruit at a farm gate, and leaves lunch and gin to you. The most-reviewed day costs $91 with wine, beer and chocolate tastings, and lunch on top.
When is lunch in the price?
Lunch is in the fare on the four-winery day at $134, the full-day tour with a winery lunch at $131, and the lunch-and-gin tour at $126. Each includes a glass of wine with the meal. The bike tour and the private day include lunch too.
A lunch-free fare plus a meal can cost the same. One tour puts a winery lunch at about A$25 to A$35. Add that before you compare, and remember drinks at lunch are extra.
Which extras do you pay on the day?
Gin is the common one. On the most-reviewed day, a gin or whisky tasting at St Huberts costs a small fee. The lunch-and-gin tour charges extra for its Four Pillars gin or Watts River beer swap. The food, wine and chocolate tour lists gin at Rochford Wines as an extra.
Tips are not included on several tours, and are your choice. Grazing boards on the half-day tours are for sale, not in the fare. Wine you buy to take home is always extra.
What do the private and bike days cost?
The private day costs $493 per person, for two to ten travellers. The price varies with group size, so check your total at checkout. It includes a sparkling brunch at Chandon, cheese at Yarra Valley Dairy, lunch platters, three winery tastings and a gin paddle at Four Pillars.
The bike tour costs $253 and includes coffee, snacks, lunch, wine tasting and drinks. Pickup from valley accommodation adds A$30 per person. Both are for adults. The private winery tours guide weighs the private day against the small groups.
Do children pay less?
No tour lists a separate child fare. Check the price for each traveller at checkout. Many tours take adults only, and the youngest age on any tour is 3.
No one under 18 may drink alcohol in Victoria, so a child's fare buys the transport and the food tastings. At Healesville Sanctuary, children aged 4 to 15 pay A$29 on weekdays and enter free on weekends and holidays.
How do you compare two fares for a similar day?
Read what each fare includes, not only the price. The two five-hour half days visit the same three wineries. One costs $90 and gives you about 45 minutes at each. The other costs $95, gives you an hour at each, and names the cellar door fees and a window seat in the fare.
The two four-winery lunch days follow the same order too: Greenstone, Balgownie Estate, Yering Farm and Soumah. One costs $131 and leaves the Immigration Museum at 9:30. The other costs $134 and collects from central meeting points from 9:15, with tea or coffee at lunch. Pick the start that suits your hotel.
What do cellar doors charge if you go alone?
Each cellar door sets its own tasting fee, and many do not publish it. Chandon and Four Pillars do not list a tasting price on their visitor pages, so ask when you book a table. The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie charges nothing to walk in.

How can you keep the cost down?
Choose a lunch-free fare and eat lightly, or pick a food day where the tastings fill you up. Book a half day if three wineries are enough. Skip the paid gin tasting unless gin is why you came.
Book early, too. Every tour refunds in full up to 24 hours ahead, so an early booking costs you little if your plans change.
What happens if you cancel?
Every tour here refunds in full if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start. Inside that window, the fare is not refunded. That makes early booking low-risk.
The private day runs only from 2 February to 5 November, so book it well ahead if your trip falls near either end. The food, wine and chocolate tour needs four travellers to run.
Does the Redwoods day cost more for the sanctuary?
No. The Redwoods day costs $127 either way. You choose between a winery lunch with a tasting at Soumah and entry to Healesville Sanctuary, and both are in the fare. On its own, adult entry to the sanctuary costs A$58 in 2026, so the wildlife option folds that entry into your day.
Are tips expected?
Tips are not in the fare on several tours, including the grazing tour, the Redwoods day and the four-winery lunch day. Tipping is your choice at the end of the day. If your guide made the day, a tip is a kind way to say so.
